PRODUCTION ENGINEER

About the role

We are seeking a talented Production Engineer to join METAL FAB TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our manufacturing processes and ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality metal fabrication products. As a Production Engineer, you will be at the heart of our operations, bridging the gap between design and manufacturing excellence whilst driving continuous improvement across our production facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee all aspects of production scheduling to ensure timely delivery of products whilst maintaining quality standards
• Monitor and optimise production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and improve overall equipment effectiveness
• Conduct regular inspections and quality audits throughout the production cycle to identify and rectify any defects or deviations
• Manage and maintain production equipment, coordinating preventative maintenance schedules and troubleshooting technical issues
• Analyse production data and metrics to identify trends, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to refine manufacturing processes and resolve technical challenges
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations across all production activities
• Train and mentor production staff on best practices, safety protocols and operational procedures
• Prepare detailed production reports and performance documentation for management review

What we're looking for

• A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience working as a Production Engineer or in a similar manufacturing role within the metal fabrication or engineering industry
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes and metal fabrication techniques
• Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and production planning tools
• Solid understanding of quality management systems and lean manufacturing principles
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to analyse complex production challenges
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage production teams effectively
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental standards relevant to manufacturing environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet production deadlines
• Experience with equipment maintenance and understanding of preventative maintenance practices is desirable
