Production Engineer (DevOps)

Salary: Up to £130k plus bonus and benefits package

Our client is a well-established proprietary trading firm with a strong engineering culture and a highly technical environment. They're looking for a Production Engineer to join a small team responsible for the reliability, automation and ongoing improvement of their technology platforms.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working across infrastructure, software and production operations. You'll have the opportunity to build automation, improve deployment processes, troubleshoot complex issues and develop tools that make the wider engineering environment more efficient.

The Role

You'll have a broad range of responsibilities, including:

• Supporting and maintaining Linux-based production environments.
• Developing Python automation, internal tools and data pipelines.
• Improving CI/CD processes and deployment tooling.
• Managing containerised workloads and production applications.
• Monitoring systems and investigating production issues.
• Improving logging, alerting and observability.
• Leading incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Building automated data validation and reconciliation processes.
• Supporting the integration of new systems and data sources.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation and runbooks.
• Participating in an on-call rota when required.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in Production Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Systems Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong Python development and scripting skills.
• Strong Linux experience and production troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience working with business-critical production environments.
• Good understanding of software development and Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable

• Experience within proprietary/systematic trading or financial technology.
• C++ development experience.
• Experience with market or reference data.
