Production Engineer

About the role

A Production Engineer role focused on planning, developing, and improving production processes to achieve production targets. The role involves analyzing production processes, monitoring productivity metrics, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and improve production processes to achieve production targets.
• Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, downtime, and productivity losses.
• Monitor and improve productivity, efficiency, OEE, yield, and scrap rate.
• Develop and maintain Standard Work, Work Instructions (WI), and process standards.
• Troubleshoot production and process problems and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze production defects and work closely with Quality, Production, and Maintenance teams to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and Cost Reduction projects.
• Optimize manpower, machines, materials, and production methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and process development from trial production to mass production.
• Review and improve production layouts, workflows, tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Ensure production processes comply with engineering specifications, drawings, WI, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Collect and analyze production data and prepare performance reports for management.
• Support 5S, Safety, TPM, and Continuous Improvement activities.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure smooth production operations and achieve production targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in Production Engineering, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, 8D, PDCA, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Knowledge of OEE, Productivity, Yield, Scrap Rate, and Downtime.
• Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings, Specifications, and Work Instructions (WI).
• Knowledge of quality management systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO 45001 will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with good data analysis skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and other related departments.
• Strong analytical, systematic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Responsible, proactive, and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong initiative in process improvement, cost reduction, and production efficiency improvement.
• Experience in Automotive, Metal Fabrication, Laser Cutting, Press Brake, or Welding industries will be an advantage.
