Production Engineer

About the role

LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking a Production Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Quezon City Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our steel production processes and ensuring operational excellence. As a Production Engineer, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, responsible for enhancing productivity, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across our production facilities.

What you'll be doing

• Monitoring and analysing production processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
• Developing and implementing process optimisation strategies to increase output whilst maintaining product quality
• Collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to ensure equipment operates at peak performance
• Conducting root cause analysis on production issues and implementing corrective actions
• Preparing detailed production reports and performance metrics for senior management
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on the production floor
• Coordinating with scheduling teams to meet production targets and delivery deadlines
• Training and mentoring production staff on best practices and process improvements
• Managing production budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Participating in equipment selection, installation and troubleshooting activities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related field)
• At least 1 year of experience in production engineering or manufacturing operations but fresh graduates are still WELCOME to APPLY
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling and process optimization techniques
• Proficiency in using production management software and data analysis tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with capacity to work effectively across teams
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry is highly desirable
• Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Certification in quality management systems (ISO 9001) or Six Sigma is an advantage
