Job Description – Sr. Engineer (Press Shop)

Department: Production – Press Shop

1. Minimum Qualification & ExperienceQualificationExperienceDiploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)2–6 YearsBE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering1–3 Years2. Authority

• Stop production in case of unsafe operations or deviation from established work standards.
• Recommend disciplinary action against workers violating company rules or not wearing prescribed PPE.
• Recommend overtime for press shop operators as per production requirements.
• Evaluate operator skill levels and recommend training or classification.
• Raise indents for press shop consumables.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to daily and alternate loading plans for the press shop.
• Prepare and maintain daily production and downtime reports.
• Verify scrap notes and ensure proper scrap documentation.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned production targets.

B. Maintenance, Safety & Workplace Management

• Ensure daily maintenance check sheets are completed by operators.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Maintain 5S standards across the shop floor.
• Ensure broken bins and trolleys are cleaned, repaired, or replaced as required.
• Conduct ergonomic studies and implement improvement measures.

C. Process Improvement

• Support line balancing and layout improvement initiatives by reducing MURI, MURA, and MUDA.
• Identify opportunities for improving productivity, process efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Prepare and update work instructions as required.
• Support operator training, skill development, and classification activities.

D. Documentation & Compliance

• Support documentation and record maintenance as per IATF 16949:2016, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Maintain worker attendance and overtime records.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of press shop records.

E. Coordination & Other Activities

• Send sheet metal end pieces to the store and communicate confirmation to all concerned departments.
• Support GKD module activities.
• Participate in rejection review meetings and support corrective actions.
• Support and assist in SAP–PP module activities.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the HOD.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
