Production Engineer (Sheet Metal)

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from design review through mass production stages.
• Review customer drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to assess product feasibility and manufacturability.
• Recommend Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) improvements to enhance cost efficiency, product quality, and production performance.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and engineering change records (ECN/ECR).
• Support product customization, engineering modifications, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
• Work closely with sheet metal, stamping, machining, and assembly teams to resolve technical and production issues.
• Support the development and improvement of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and dies.
• Assist in defining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production control plans.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI), pilot production runs, and product validation activities.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customers regarding product-related matters.
• Participate in customer technical discussions, design reviews, and problem-solving activities.
• Provide technical inputs for quotation preparation and cost estimation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for product issues, including 8D and CAPA methodologies.
• Ensure products meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality management systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for product design, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety requirements, and industry certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related fields, preferably within sheet metal or precision manufacturing industries.
• Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, stamping, CNC machining, and assembly processes is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing optimization techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar tools.
• Good knowledge of engineering materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and surface treatment processes.
