Production Engineer(Casting Unit)

Job Summary: -

We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer For Casting Unit with practical knowledge of SG Iron (Spheroidal Graphite Iron), CI (Cast Iron), and MS (Mild Steel) casting processes. The candidate should have hands-on experience operating a Spectrometer and CE Meter for chemical composition analysis and carbon equivalent measurement, along with knowledge of melting, pouring, casting defect analysis, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities: -

• Manage and monitor casting operations for SG Iron, CI, and MS materials.
• Operate and maintain a Spectrometer for chemical composition analysis of molten metal and cast samples.
• Operate a CE Meter (Carbon Equivalent Meter) to check carbon equivalent and control melt quality.
• Monitor chemical composition and ensure material conforms to specified grades and customer requirements.
• Control melting, metal treatment, inoculation, pouring temperature, and other critical process parameters.
• Monitor moulding, core-making, gating, risering, pouring, and fettling operations.
• Identify and troubleshoot casting defects such as blowholes, shrinkage, porosity, cracks, sand inclusion, and misruns.
• Ensure proper metallurgical properties of SG Iron, CI, and MS castings.
• Coordinate with the quality team for hardness, tensile strength, microstructure, and other material testing.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and production targets.

Required Skills & Technical Knowledge

• Hands-on experience in SG Iron, CI, and MS casting processes.
• Practical operating experience with Spectrometer and CE Meter.
• Knowledge of chemical composition analysis and carbon equivalent control.
• Understanding of melting furnaces, inoculation and metal treatment.
• Knowledge of casting defects, metallurgy, and solidification principles.
• Experience in root cause analysis, rejection control, and process improvement.
• Knowledge of hardness testing, mechanical testing, and material specifications.
• Ability to maintain inspection reports, chemical analysis records, and quality documentation.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Foundry Technology.
