Production Engineering Intern

About the Role

As a Production Engineering Intern, you will bridge the gap between theoretical design and real-world application by optimizing manufacturing workflows and enhancing operational efficiency. You will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that increase production throughput.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on technical challenges to develop sustainable engineering solutions.
• Spend significant time on the production floor to monitor equipment performance and gather data for process optimization.
• Support the full product lifecycle by assisting with design updates and workflow documentation.
• Utilize 3D modeling and CAD software to visualize and test new manufacturing layouts.
• Apply Lean manufacturing and 5S principles to reduce waste and improve workplace organization.
• Develop and maintain accurate technical reports to ensure project milestones are met with high quality.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to balance academic commitments with a professional work schedule.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to work in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodologies and 5S workplace organization.
• Experience with software programming or scripting to automate data collection and problem-solving.
