Production Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and results-driven Production Executive to oversee daily production operations within our palm oil processing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring production activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards while achieving operational targets and cost optimization.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, leadership capabilities, and a continuous improvement mindset to support operational excellence in a fast-paced palm oil environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure operational targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor production performance, plant capacity utilization, yield, extraction efficiency, downtime, and production losses.
• Ensure smooth production operations by coordinating with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Laboratory, Warehouse, and other related departments.
• Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to improve plant performance and productivity.
• Optimize manpower utilization and monitor labor productivity to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure raw materials, chemicals, utilities, and packaging materials are effectively managed to minimize losses and wastage.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for process disruptions, equipment issues, and production inefficiencies.
• Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve process efficiency, yield recovery, cost effectiveness, and operational reliability.
• Ensure compliance with production SOPs, GMP, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
• Support implementation of operational excellence programs, preventive actions, and root cause analysis activities.
• Prepare production reports, performance analysis, and operational recommendations for management review.
• Develop and coach production personnel to enhance team capability and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Production, Process Operations, Manufacturing, Refinery, Edible Oil, or similar industries.
• Strong understanding of palm oil processing operations, including refining, fractionation, crushing, kernel processing, or related manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of production planning, process control, yield management, and operational performance indicators.
• Familiar with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Operational Excellence concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions based on operational data.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management capabilities.
• Familiarity with HSE requirements, ISO standards, GMP, HACCP, and food safety systems is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing environment and be based at mill, refinery, or processing facilities.
