Production executive

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on, proactive Production Executive to oversee daily production activities, optimize workshop flow, and enforce strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will bridge management objectives and shop-floor execution to ensure timely delivery of eco-processed wooden pallets while minimizing material waste.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production schedules and assign tasks to machine operators, carpenters, and general workers
• Monitor timber receiving, cutting, assembly, heat treatment (ISPM 15 compliance), and dispatch staging
• Ensure output targets and delivery deadlines are met consistently
• Supervise eco-processing workflows to maximize raw material yield and reduce off-cut/scrap timber
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for nailing, assembling, and automated/semi-automated cutting lines
• Identify operational bottlenecks and suggest continuous improvement (Kaizen / 5S) initiatives
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure pallets meet customer load-bearing specs and moisture content standards
• Monitor phytosanitary/heat treatment documentation and processes in accordance with export regulations (ISPM 15)
• Coordinate routine maintenance for pneumatic nail guns, table saws, rip saws, conveyor systems, and heat treatment kilns
• Monitor inventory levels for raw lumber, fast-moving hardware (nails, fasteners, plates), and finished goods

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or related field

• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on production or supervisory experience in manufacturing

• Direct experience in timber, wooden furniture, pallet fabrication, or sawmilling is strongly preferred

• Familiarity with pneumatic nailing systems, woodworking machinery, and heat treatment/kiln drying cycles

• Basic understanding of ISPM 15 export standards is a strong advantage

• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills to manage floor operators

• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and basic English; Mandarin is an added advantage to liaise with specific machine suppliers/clients

• Willingness to work in a typical factory/mill environment
