Production executive

About the role

To plan, coordinate, monitor, and control daily production activities to ensure that plastic pipes and fittings are manufactured according to production schedules, quality specifications, customer requirements, and company standards. The Production Executive is responsible for achieving production targets, optimising manpower and machine utilisation, minimising wastage, and maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales orders, inventory levels, and delivery commitments.
• Monitor production output to ensure targets are achieved within the planned timeframe.
• Coordinate production activities for HDPE, PPR, ABS, and electrical conduit pipes and fittings.
• Ensure production resources, including raw materials, manpower, machinery, and tooling, are available when required.
• Monitor production progress and promptly report delays, bottlenecks, or operational issues to management.
• Monitor extrusion manufacturing processes to ensure stable and efficient operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, machine utilisation, production cycle time, and overall equipment efficiency.
• Minimise material wastage, rejects, rework, downtime, and unnecessary production costs.
• Work closely with the QA/QC department to ensure products meet approved specifications and applicable quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance are carried out.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Polymer Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in plastic pipe and fitting manufacturing, particularly extrusion and injection moulding, will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality control, and production reporting.
• Familiarity with ISO quality management systems, SIRIM requirements, and workplace safety practices is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and production reporting systems.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet production deadlines.
• Willing to work shifts or overtime when required by production schedules.
