Production Fitter

I.               DAILY TASK

1. Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components according to drawings and specifications.

2. Perform machine setup, alignment, and basic calibration before production runs.

3. Inspect parts and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.

4. Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery and tools.

5. Maintain a clean and safe working area following 5S and safety procedures.

6. Prepare and organize tools, equipment, and materials before starting work.

7. Perform dimensional checks using measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.

8. Assist in machine troubleshooting and identify root causes of minor issues.

9. Update production logs, checklists, and maintenance records daily.

10. Support supervisors and engineers during installation or modification activities.

II.             RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure all fitting and assembly work meets technical drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements.

2. Follow safety regulations and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

3. Report equipment faults, defects, and production issues to the supervisor promptly.

4. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.

5. Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections, and maintenance activities.

6. Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and materials to prevent damage or loss.

7. Comply with ISO/quality system procedures and company policies.

8. Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions.

9. Assist in reducing downtime by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns.

10. Work closely with other departments (e.g., QA, Engineering, Warehouse) to ensure smooth operations.

III.       QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Education:

·       Minimum SPM / High School Certificate or equivalent

·       Technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, Machining, or related field is preferred

·       Vocational training (e.g., ILP, GiatMARA, Polytechnics) is an advantage

2.    Experience:

·       At least 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment

·       Experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, or maintenance work

·       Familiar with reading engineering drawings and using measuring tools

·       Fresh graduates with relevant technical training may be considered

3.    Technical Skills:

·       Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

·       Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (e.g., vernier caliper, micrometer)

·       Basic knowledge of machinery alignment, installation, and maintenance

·       Understanding of tolerances, fitting techniques, and mechanical components

·       Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on production equipment

4.    Soft Skills:

·       Strong attention to detail and quality

·       Good teamwork and communication skills

·       Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

·       Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn

·       Time management and ability to meet production deadlines

5.    Physical Requirements:

·       Fit and able to perform manual tasks

·       Able to stand for long hours and work in a manufacturing environment

·       Capable of lifting and handling heavy components (within safety limits)

·       Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekend if required

·       Good hand-eye coordination
