About the Position

Smith & Co is currently seeking reliable and hardworking Production Labourers with Forklift Licences to join an established manufacturing and production facility in Carbrook, QLD.
  
Our client specialises in processing sands and manufacturing packaged building materials, including concrete and mortar products used across the construction, mining and other industries.
  
This is a hands-on position combining general production labouring, forklift operation and packaging duties. You'll be working on a sand bagging line, assisting with both manual and automated production processes while learning how to operate and monitor production equipment.
  
With ongoing work available and the opportunity to transition into permanent employment, this role is ideal for candidates seeking stability in the manufacturing industry.

• 15% afternoon shift loading
• Day shift: 6:00am–4:00pm
• Afternoon shift: 12:00pm–10:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations on the sand bagging and packaging line
• Learn to operate, monitor and maintain production flow on the bagging line
• Perform manual labouring and material handling duties throughout the plant
• Support automated production and packaging processes
• Wrap completed pallets and prepare products for storage
• Operate forklifts to transport finished pallets into designated storage areas
• Maintain clean and organised production and warehouse areas
• Follow production procedures and workplace safety requirements
• Work collaboratively with other production staff to meet daily targets

Skills & Experience

• Current Forklift Licence (LF) – Essential
• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, warehousing or general labouring highly regarded
• Comfortable performing both forklift and hands-on labouring duties
• Physically fit and capable of repetitive manual handling
• Willingness to learn how to operate production and packaging machinery
• Reliable, punctual and committed to ongoing employment
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety procedures
• Available to work the required day or afternoon shift
• Ability to work in a dusty manufacturing environment while following required safety precautions

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Must be willing to complete a drug test prior to commencement
• Required to undergo a respirator fit test
• Must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals to ensure a proper fit
• Comfortable wearing respiratory protection for designated tasks when required
