Lead Hand / Machine Operator – Meat Processing Plant

We are looking for an experienced, hardworking Lead Hand / Machine Operator to join our meat processing operation.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working in a meat processing or food manufacturing plant, is mechanically inclined, comfortable operating production equipment, and is willing to work hands-on with the team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, set up, adjust, and monitor meat processing and packaging equipment
• Lead and assist production employees to keep the line running efficiently
• Troubleshoot minor machine and equipment issues
• Perform changeovers, basic adjustments, and assist with preventative maintenance
• Monitor production output, product quality, and employee performance
• Ensure production targets and daily schedules are met
• Follow food safety, HACCP, CFIA, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Communicate equipment or production issues to management and maintenance
• Help train and supervise production employees
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area
• Be willing to perform hands-on production work whenever required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a meat processing plant is strongly preferred
• Experience operating industrial food processing, packaging, cutting, portioning, or similar machinery
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable troubleshooting equipment
• Previous Lead Hand, Supervisor, or senior machine operator experience is an asset
• Strong work ethic and willing to work hard in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Able to work in refrigerated/cold environments
• Able to lift and perform physical production work when required
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible with working hours and overtime when required

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, good with machinery, and able to take responsibility for keeping production running smoothly.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
