Production Machine Operator

Overview

Cersosimo Lumber Company is one of the largest producers of high quality Northeastern Hardwood and Eastern White Pine. Join our lumber manufacturing team as a Machine Operator in one of several facilities in Brattleboro, VT. A machine operator within a sawmill controls heavy machinery that breaks down raw logs into usable lumber and wood products. In our processing facilities planer operators and trim saw operators prepare dried lumber for packaging and shipment. These positions offers an opportunity to develop the skills necessary to grow in this unique industry.

Duties

• Operate a wide range of manufacturing equipment like head saws, or band saws, resaws, edgers, trimmers. planers and stackers.
• Monitor quality of products such as inspecting finished boards to ensure they meet standards.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while handling industrial equipment and materials; maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with materials handling, packaging finished products, and warehouse operations as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications & Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and an ability to troubleshoot machinery, work with hand tools and understand basic equipment mechanics
• Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and commitment to maintaining a safe workspace.
• Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and regularly lift materials over 50 lbs.
• Prior manufacturing or woodworking experience is preferred but not required

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
