Production Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage our manufacturing operations, including the establishment and commissioning of a new factory from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and establish the factory from zero, including production facilities, machinery, equipment, production lines, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Lead the factory commissioning and production start-up, ensuring a smooth transition from installation to full-scale production.
• Develop and implement production processes, SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, and operational procedures.
• Plan production capacity, manpower, materials, equipment and workflow to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.
• Recruit, train and develop the production and operations team, building a competent and efficient workforce.
• Establish effective systems for production planning, scheduling, inventory control, productivity monitoring and cost management.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Warehouse and Sales teams to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.
• Monitor production performance, yield, efficiency, downtime, wastage and manufacturing costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and lead corrective and preventive actions to minimize disruptions.
• Establish preventive maintenance programmes and ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for production efficiency, quality, delivery, manpower and cost.
• Drive lean manufacturing, process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare production reports, forecasts and management updates.
• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day manufacturing operations and factory performance.

About you

• Degree/Diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant manufacturing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in setting up and commissioning a factory or new production facility from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality management and factory operations.
• Experience in manpower planning, equipment installation, production line setup and process development.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Hands-on, practical and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Good communication and coordination skills across different departments.
• Willingness to be closely involved in the factory start-up phase and daily operations.
