Production Manager

About the Role

Schoen's Roofing & Exteriors is looking for an organized, field-savvy Production Lead to keep our jobs moving from sold to complete. You'll be the operational hub between our sales team, crews, subcontractors, and customers — making sure materials are ordered, schedules are set, people are where they need to be, and jobs close clean. This is a fast-paced role that requires someone who can manage multiple moving pieces without dropping the ball and communicate clearly under pressure.

Responsibilities

Job & Production Management

• Manage jobs from post-sale handoff through final completion — tracking status, deliveries, scheduling, production, and cleanup
• Order all job materials and coordinate timely delivery to job sites
• Order and manage labor — subcontractors and crews — from assignment through completion
• Source and vet new subcontractors as needed to support capacity
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date job status in our CRM
• Update job costing as production progresses

Crew & Subcontractor Oversight

• Manage foreman day-to-day on repairs and jobs as they come in
• Ensure subcontractors are meeting quality standards, timelines, and site expectations
• Be available for crew calls in the evenings as needed when jobs are active

Payroll

• Track and process crew and subcontractor payroll accurately and on time

Customer Experience

• Handle customer escalations related to crews on-site or post-job issues
• Coordinate callbacks, repairs, and warranty work through to resolution
• Communicate proactively with customers when timelines or job status change

What We're Looking For

Required

• Experience in roofing, construction, or exterior contracting — you understand how jobs run in the field
• Strong organizational and communication skills — you're the person people can count on to have the answer
• Comfortable managing subcontractors and holding people accountable
• Able to juggle multiple active jobs at once without losing track of details
• Proficient with technology
• Available Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with flexibility for evening crew calls as needed

Bonus

• Prior experience as a production manager, project manager, or foreman
• Familiarity with CRM systems
• Experience with payroll processing
• Knowledge of local permitting processes
