Production Manager

good phyte foods is looking to hire a dedicated, reliable, and energetic part-time Production Manager (PM) to join the team in our kitchen. The PM will be trained in ingredient preparation, recipe execution, product labeling and storage, as well as performing washing and clean-up duties required in the kitchen, and then be able to execute these tasks independently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a small health food business team with a part-time commitment. Ideal start date for training is July 7, 2025 but could start earlier based on candidate availability.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

• Follow detailed recipes and, once trained, independently execute a variety of recipes from start to finish, including the proper preparation and weighing of ingredients
• Label, bag, and properly store finished product
• Oversee proper storage and organization of ingredients and supplies
• Wash and appropriately store cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes; as well as properly cleaning food preparation and other workplace areas according to established standards of hygiene

Production Manager Requirements:

Previous kitchen experience of some degree is required, but the most important asset is a passion for nutritious food and a willingness to learn. This position does require the ability to stand for extended periods, and the ability to work collegially in a friendly team environment but also independently as needed. Must have good organizational and time management skills and effective communication skills. Must have transportation to the good phyte kitchen in downtown Charlottesville (Rose Hill Drive). Must be able to carry 25 pounds.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
