Production Manager

Production Manager – Frozen Foods

Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the complete Frozen Foods production operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality, food safety, and production targets. The role involves manpower planning, production scheduling, process optimization, cost control, equipment utilization, and coordination with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, SCM, and NPD teams.

Required Experience:

• 7–8 years of relevant experience in the Frozen Food Industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in managing Frozen Food production operations, preferably in products such as Samosa, Spring Roll, French Fries, Frozen Snacks, and other ready-to-cook frozen products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum resource utilization.
• Monitor production output and minimize downtime.

2. Production Operations

• Supervise all Frozen Foods manufacturing activities.
• Ensure adherence to approved recipes, process parameters, and SOPs.
• Optimize machine utilization and production efficiency.

3. Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, and company quality standards.
• Coordinate with QA/IPQC for in-process quality control.
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented for quality deviations.

4. Manpower Management

• Plan and allocate manpower based on production requirements.
• Supervise production supervisors, operators, and workers.
• Conduct training and performance evaluations for production staff.

5. Process Improvement

• Improve productivity through continuous process optimization.
• Reduce production losses, wastage, and rework.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.

6. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with the Maintenance department to ensure machine availability.
• Report equipment breakdowns and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure proper operation of freezers, refrigeration systems, and production equipment.

7. Inventory & Material Control

• Coordinate with Warehouse and SCM for timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
• Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices are followed.

8. New Product Trials

• Coordinate with the NPD team for pilot and commercial production trials.
• Ensure successful scale-up of new products.
• Monitor trial results and implement improvements.

9. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports, batch manufacturing records (BMR), and machine utilization reports.
• Monitor production KPIs and prepare MIS reports.
• Ensure complete documentation for traceability and compliance.

10. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and factory policies.
• Promote safe working practices on the production floor.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
