Production Manager

Key responsibilities

• Planning and scheduling production activities to meet demand forecasts and customer delivery requirements
• Overseeing daily production operations and ensuring adherence to established timelines and quality standards
• Managing production budgets and controlling costs whilst maintaining product quality and productivity targets
• Supervising and directing production staff, including hiring, training, performance management and team development
• Monitoring production metrics, analysing performance data and implementing corrective actions to optimise efficiency
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and internal company policies
• Liaising with other departments including procurement, quality assurance and logistics to ensure seamless operations
• Identifying process improvements and implementing lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity
• Maintaining equipment in good working order and coordinating maintenance activities to minimise downtime
• Reporting on production performance to senior management and providing recommendations for operational improvements

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Management or a related field

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing environment

• Proven expertise in production planning, scheduling and materials management

• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and quality management systems (ISO standards preferred)

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience in a similar manufacturing or logistics environment would be advantageous

• Project management certification or equivalent experience is desirable
