Production Manager

📍 Location: Akron, OH.

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong background in automotive manufacturing, plastic injection molding, and assembly operations? Join our team at Röchling Automotive and help us drive operational excellence, product quality, and continuous improvement!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a 24/7 manufacturing operation across three shifts, overseeing injection molding, assembly, and testing processes.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to production supervisors and team members.
• Ensure production schedules and customer delivery requirements are consistently met.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, efficiency, scrap, downtime, and labor costs.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with established safety standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, and Launch teams to achieve operational goals.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to address production and quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and quality standards.
• Manage labor resources and overtime while maximizing production efficiency.
• Lead cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and optimize performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Management preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, specifically in plastic injection molding and assembly operations.
• Experience in the automotive industry, preferably within an automotive supplier or Tier 1/Tier 2 manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, assembly operations, and production workflows.
• Proven experience leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
• Experience monitoring production KPIs and implementing corrective actions to achieve performance targets.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, customer-specific requirements, and automotive quality standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and support operations across three shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
