Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to manage day-to-day production activities involving fabrication, mechanical assembly and related manufacturing operations. The candidate should have strong shop-floor experience, team-handling skills and the ability to achieve production and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily production planning and execution for fabrication and assembly operations.
• Ensure production targets, product quality and delivery schedules are achieved.
• Supervise shop-floor workers, supervisors and production teams.
• Monitor manpower and machine utilization to improve productivity.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Purchase teams for smooth production.
• Identify production bottlenecks, reduce rework and minimize material wastage.
• Ensure work is carried out as per engineering drawings and required specifications.
• Maintain production reports and monitor key performance indicators.
• Ensure workplace safety, discipline and proper housekeeping.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in fabrication and mechanical assembly operations.
• Good understanding of production planning and shop-floor management.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in manpower handling, productivity improvement and quality control.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving and team-management skills.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• 1015 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or heavy engineering.
• Candidates with experience managing end-to-end shop-floor production will be preferred.
