What they need
Lion Rock Group is a leading international book printing and print management provider. Through our subsidiary Asia Pacific Offset Limited (APOL), we deliver premier print and bookmaking solutions to top publishers in the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. We are seeking a Production Manager (or Production Controller for earlier-career candidates) to manage end-to-end print manufacturing, quality assurance, and vendor coordination across our China facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end printing production processes, ensuring all projects are delivered on time within budget and to client specifications.
- Coordinate closely with overseas offices, clients, and external print suppliers on daily job order status.
- Travel to and work at Mainland China offices and printing factories on an irregular basis to monitor production progress, conduct sample inspections, and perform onsite press checks.
- Review proofs, assist with sample approval before bulk production, identify and resolve production delays or technical printing issues, and communicate solutions clearly to all parties.
- Review production quotes, negotiate costs with suppliers, optimize production costs, and manage production schedules to meet tight deadlines.
Requirements
Candidates should possess HKDSE / Form 5 qualifications or above. For the Production Manager role, a solid background in the printing or publishing industry with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role is preferred, along with a deep understanding of offset printing, digital printing, and paper types. Candidates with less experience or basic print knowledge will be considered for the role of Production Controller. Applicants must be highly detail-oriented, organized, quality-conscious, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and cost-negotiation skills. Willingness to travel to or work at Mainland China offices and factories on an irregular basis is required. Fluency in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is essential.
