Production Manager (Sheet Metal)

• Plan, organize and monitor daily production activities according to production schedules and customer requirements.
• Ensure production targets, delivery schedules and output requirements are achieved.
• Coordinate with Planning, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and other departments to resolve production issues.
• Monitor production progress and take corrective actions for delays or bottlenecks.
• Lead and manage production supervisors, leaders and operators.
• Plan manpower requirements, work allocation, shift arrangements and overtime.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance, discipline and productivity.
• Provide coaching, training and guidance to production personnel.
• Ensure products are manufactured according to drawings, specifications, work instructions and quality standards.
• Work closely with the Quality Department to investigate and reduce production defects, rework and customer complaints.
• Ensure proper control of production processes including stamping, machining, bending, welding, grinding, coating and assembly.
• Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, labour productivity and material usage.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce production costs.
• Minimize material wastage, rework, scrap, downtime and unnecessary overtime.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure production machinery and equipment are properly maintained and available for production.
• Monitor machine downtime and support troubleshooting of production-related equipment issues.
• Ensure production activities comply with company EHS policies, safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Promote a safe and disciplined working environment and ensure employees follow proper PPE and safety requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as 6S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and process optimization.
• Review production performance and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and monitor production KPIs and improvement plans.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
• Monitor key production indicators including output, efficiency, productivity, rejection rate, downtime and on-time delivery.
• Report production issues, manpower requirements and improvement plans to management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of production/manufacturing experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
• Experience in metal fabrication, stamping, machining, welding or electrical cabinet assembly is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, manpower management, quality control and process improvement.
• Familiar with production KPIs, 6S, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen.
• Good problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
