Production Officer

Job Summary
The successful candidate will help keep production running efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently met. This role also involves guiding junior production staff, so good organizational and people-management skills are important.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organize production schedules
• Assess project and resource requirements, including cost analysis and risk analysis, and deliver timely reports to management
• Estimate, negotiate, and agree on budgets and timescales with the management team
• Ensure that health and safety regulations are met on the production floor
• Determine and maintain quality control standards
• Oversee day-to-day production processes
• Perform routine quality control checks during production
• Re-negotiate timescales or schedules as necessary
• Select and order maintenance items and other supplies related to production
• Organize repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
• Supervise and manage the work of junior staff, including operators
• Organize relevant training sessions for the operations team
• Carry out any other relevant tasks assigned by the management team from time to time

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a production/manufacturing environment; prior experience guiding or supervising junior staff is an advantage
• Good understanding of production planning, budgeting, and quality control processes
• Good organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Proficient in basic reporting/documentation (Excel, production reports, etc.)
