PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Crane Controls: Use pendant controls, remote transmitters, or a cab-based lever system to maneuver metal coils smoothly across the facility.
• Load and Unload: Move coils safely to and from production lines, trucks, storage racks, and staging areas.
• Inspect Equipment: Conduct pre-shift and post-shift safety checks on the crane, hoists, cables, and rigging hooks, reporting any defects immediately.
• Secure and Stack Materials: Position coils according to strict inventory layouts, block or chalk bottom rows securely, and chain end rows as required.
• Coordinate Workflow: Communicate constantly via radio or hand signals with floor crews, forklift drivers, and production supervisors to maintain a steady material flow.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or vocational/technical school graduate.

• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years operating overhead or industrial bridge cranes, ideally in a steel mill, metal processing, or heavy manufacturing plant.

• Physical & Work Demands: willing to work shifting schedules or overtime.
