Production Operator – Wide Coil Blanking Machine

Location: West Midlands
Salary: £28,500–£30,000 per annum, DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We’re recruiting an experienced Production Operator to join an established stainless-steel processing business in Darlaston.

Our main priority is finding someone with experience operating a blanking machine or cut-to-length line, ideally processing wide metal coil up to 1,500mm.

Working Hours:

The shifts alternate weekly:

• Week one: 6:00am–2:00pm
• Week two: 8:00am–4:00pm

The Role:

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting and operating blanking and metal-processing machinery
• Cutting wide coil to specified lengths and customer requirements
• Loading the correct materials onto production lines
• Working accurately from production plans and works orders
• Checking dimensions, quality and bundle weights
• Monitoring machinery and reporting faults or quality concerns
• Completing routine machine and maintenance checks
• Packing finished products to customer specifications
• Supporting other production and warehouse duties when required
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working area

About You:

We’re particularly interested in candidates with:

• Experience operating a blanking machine or cut-to-length line
• Experience processing steel, stainless steel or other metal coil
• The ability to work with coil widths up to approximately 1,500mm
• Previous experience setting and running production machinery
• A good understanding of quality checks and production targets
• A safety-conscious and reliable approach
• The flexibility to support different production lines

A forklift or overhead-crane licence would also be advantageous.
