Production Planner

I. DAILY TASK

1. Daily Output Updating: Record and analyze the previous day’s actual output against the planned target. Update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to reflect gains or slippages.

2. Production Traveler & Work Order Generation: Prepare and issue formal Work Orders and Production Travelers (Log Sheets) for every project. These documents must accompany parts through every stage of the manufacturing process.

3. Morning Progress Review: Conduct "Floor Walks" with the Production Operation Team to verify the completion status of sub-assemblies based on the 24-hour timeline.

4. Constraint Identification: Identify and document immediate bottlenecks (e.g., machine downtime, labour shortages, or delayed sub-components) that risk the day's targets.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operational Execution & Timeline Management

· Timeline Accountability: Rigorously follow up with the Production Operation Team to ensure that every station meets its specific completion milestone.

· Target Alignment: Work in lockstep with the Production Engineer and Production Executive to ensure that technical methods are optimized to meet the daily/weekly output targets.

· Work Order Integrity: Ensure that every Production Traveler is accurately populated with part numbers, revision levels, and routing steps to maintain 100% traceability.

2. Cross-Functional Synchronization

· Priority Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Packing. You are responsible for ensuring these teams are aligned with the Shipment Schedule rather than competing departmental goals.

· Quality & Packing Coordination: Ensure that "Quality Gates" are scheduled into the production flow so that parts reach the Packing Team with enough buffer time for final inspection before the courier cutoff.

· Engineering Feedback Loop: Provide data to Engineering regarding "Design for Manufacturability" (DFM) issues that slow down the production timeline.

3. Strategic Reporting & Constraint Management

· Bottleneck Highlighting: Proactively escalate any production constraints (e.g., specialized tool failure or material defects) to management before they result in a missed shipment.

· Resource Balancing: Adjust the production sequence dynamically if a specific machine or operator becomes unavailable, minimizing the impact on the overall schedule.

· Recovery Planning: When delays occur, develop "Catch-up Plans" involving overtime or shifting shifts to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD).

III. QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration or a related field.

2. Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years in a manufacturing environment (experience in the production planning or scheduling role is preferred).

3. Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).

· Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) for data modeling and inventory forecasting.

· Familiarity with manufacturing documentation (Work Instructions, Travelers, and NCRs).

4. Soft Skills: High level of urgency & assertiveness, strong negotiation skills, excellent communication for inter-departmental coordination, and the ability to remain calm under pressure when production lines are at risk.

Working hours: 8.00 - 5.48 - Monday to Friday

Entitle for OT Rate 1.5 (Normal Working Day & Off Day < 8 hours) / 2.0 (Off day > 8hours & Public Holiday/Rest Day < 8hours office hours) / 3.0 (Rest Day / Public Holiday > 8 hours office hours) - Basic salary RM4000.00 and below.

Entitle for Fix Overtime Rate, RM15/hour - Basic Salary above RM4000.00

Contribution of EPF, Socso & EIS. Annual Leave, Sick Leaves and Other Special Leaves under company.
