About the role

LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking a Production Planner to join our dynamic manufacturing operations team in Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimizing our production schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality steel products on time. As a Production Planner, you will be at the heart of our operational excellence, bridging the gap between demand forecasting, inventory management, and shop-floor execution. This role is instrumental in driving productivity, minimizing waste, and supporting the strategic objectives of our manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules that align with customer demand, sales forecasts, and available manufacturing capacity
• Analyze production requirements and coordinate with sales, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of orders
• Monitor inventory levels and material availability to prevent production delays and optimize stock levels
• Prepare detailed production plans that account for equipment capabilities, labor availability, and lead times
• Track production progress against schedules and identify bottlenecks or constraints that may impact delivery timelines
• Collaborate with operations and quality teams to ensure production plans meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Generate production forecasts and reports for management, providing insights into capacity utilization and performance metrics
• Manage changes to production schedules in response to urgent orders, equipment breakdowns, or supply chain disruptions
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency and reduce production lead times
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery and manage procurement timelines effectively

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Production Planner or similar scheduling role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in steel production or heavy manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of production planning methodologies, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and capacity planning
• Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and production scheduling software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production demands
• Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities, and production constraints
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, sales, procurement, and quality assurance
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to a team environment
• Certification in production planning, supply chain management, or related qualifications would be advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
