What they need
True Foods is Australia's largest Australian-owned manufacturer of tortilla wraps, flatbreads, naan and roti products, supplying leading retailers, foodservice operators and quick service restaurants nationwide.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Maryborough.
This is not a traditional scheduling role.
We are looking for a commercially minded planner who can combine strong production planning expertise, analytical capability and ERP systems knowledge to help shape the future of planning at True Foods. You will play a key role in our transition from spreadsheet-driven planning processes to a more integrated and data-driven planning environment within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
This role will suit someone who enjoys solving complex planning challenges, influencing decisions across the business and driving continuous improvement through better systems, processes and reporting.
About the Role
Reporting to the Planning & Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production plans that balance customer demand, inventory investment, manufacturing efficiency, capacity constraints and service expectations.
You will work closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehousing, Customer Service and Sales to ensure production plans are achievable, efficient and aligned with business objectives.
A key focus of the role will be maximising the capability of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, improving planning disciplines, increasing automation and reducing reliance on manual workarounds and spreadsheets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production plans across short, medium and long-term planning horizons.
- Balance customer demand, inventory levels, production efficiency and available capacity.
- Run, interpret and maintain MRP and production planning outputs within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Monitor production performance against plan and proactively identify risks, constraints and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain planning master data including lead times, safety stock, planning parameters, routings and other planning settings.
- Develop inventory and capacity plans that support customer service objectives while optimising working capital.
- Analyse trends and business performance data to identify opportunities for improved planning outcomes.
- Present planning recommendations, risks and trade-offs to stakeholders across the business.
- Partner closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure alignment.
- Support the Supply Review and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and standardise planning processes.
- Contribute to future planning capability improvements, including enhanced system utilisation and planning maturity initiatives.
- Develop and maintain planning reports, dashboards and KPI visibility tools
About You
You are more than a scheduler.
You are a planner who understands the broader commercial impact of planning decisions and can balance service, cost, inventory and operational efficiency.
You enjoy working with data, solving problems and influencing outcomes across multiple functions.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Production Planning, Supply Planning or a similar planning role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience using ERP and MRP planning systems
- Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, inventory management and demand planning principles
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management capability
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
Highly Desirable
- Food manufacturing or FMCG experience
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central planning experience
- Experience supporting ERP implementation, optimisation or planning transformation projects
- Experience working within S&OP or Integrated Business Planning processes
- Power BI, Power Query or Power Automate experience

You will be successful in this role if you:

Can confidently move between detailed analysis and big-picture business thinking
Are comfortable working in an environment that is evolving and improving
Have a strong continuous improvement mindset
