What they need
Job Summary:
- The Production Planner - is responsible for translating customer orders and sales forecasts into efficient daily, weekly, and monthly master production schedules. This role oversees the flow of apparel manufacturing—from raw material availability (fabrics, trims) through cutting, sewing, washing, and finishing—ensuring line efficiency, optimal capacity utilization, and on-time order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Master Production Scheduling: Create and maintain master schedules for cutting, sewing, washing, and finishing lines based on order priorities, lead times, and factory capacity.
- Capacity & Line Allocation: Assign styles to specific sewing and assembly lines according to Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM), worker skill matrices, and machine capability.
- Material Coordination (MRP): Work with Procurement and Inventory teams to verify Bill of Materials (BOM) availability—ensuring fabrics, threads, zips, and trims arrive on time before production starts.
- Production Tracking & Line Balance: Monitor daily line outputs against targets, identify bottlenecks or delays early, and adjust schedules to keep production moving smoothly.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with Merchandising, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse teams to update order statuses, resolve material shortages, and prevent delivery delays.
- Performance Reporting: Track and report key metrics, including Capacity Utilization, Schedule Adherence, Line Efficiency, and On-Time In-Full (OTIF) completion rates.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within garment or textile manufacturing.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data modeling, lookup formulas, pivot tables).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing operational priorities.
