Production Planner

Our client "Shuangfei Wire Harness Sdn Bhd" is seeking a Production Planner to join their team!

Reporting to the Senior Production Planner, this role offers the opportunity to coordinate production schedules, manage material availability and improve planning efficiency within a manufacturing environment.

What you'll be doing?

• Plan production schedules: Develop, maintain and optimise schedules based on customer orders, forecasts and production capacity.
• Coordinate materials: Work with Procurement to ensure raw materials and components are available on time.
• Monitor production progress: Adjust schedules to address delays, equipment breakdowns and material shortages.
• Analyse demand and inventory: Review demand trends, inventory levels and lead times to prevent overproduction and stockouts.
• Balance resources: Collaborate with production supervisors to manage workload and resource allocation.
• Report production status: Prepare and present production updates and planning reports to management.
• Improve production flow: Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain compliance: Ensure planning activities align with company policies, safety standards and quality requirements.
• Support continuous improvement: Contribute to planning and supply chain efficiency initiatives.
• Exercise operational control: Escalate or stop production when abnormalities or quality issues occur, in line with company authority procedures.
• Support business needs: Undertake ad hoc tasks and responsibilities assigned by management.

Who are they looking for?

• Relevant experience: Proven experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler or in a similar supply chain or operations role.
• Planning knowledge: Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management and ERP/MRP systems.
• Excel proficiency: Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with planning tools or software.
• Manufacturing exposure: Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Lean knowledge: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Quality systems: Understanding of ISO or quality management systems.
• Problem-solving ability: Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Communication skills: Strong communication and teamwork capabilities for working with Procurement, Production and management.
• Work management: Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
