Production Planner

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to support our Metal/Coating operations by ensuring smooth production planning, scheduling, and coordination across departments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying production gaps, optimizing workflow efficiency, and ensuring production schedules align with customer demand, material availability, and production capacity. This role requires close collaboration with Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Production teams to achieve operational excellence, minimize production costs, and maximize productivity.

What you will do:

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on customer orders, material availability, production capacity, and delivery requirements.

• Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production schedules to optimize production resources.

• Ensure production lines and workstations operate at optimum efficiency.

• Monitor production progress and revise schedules when necessary to accommodate changes in priorities.

• Work closely with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, and other production divisions to ensure smooth production execution.

• Coordinate production priorities based on customer requirements and delivery commitments.

• Communicate schedule changes and production updates to relevant departments.

• Support effective coordination between departments to minimize production delays.

• Forecast production output for the upcoming two weeks based on sales orders and safety stock requirements.

• Monitor production performance and identify potential bottlenecks that may affect delivery schedules.

• Recommend improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce production costs, and improve operational efficiency.

• Develop contingency plans and corrective actions to minimize deviations from production schedules.

• Maintain accurate production planning records and scheduling data.

• Prepare production planning reports and schedule updates for management.

• Monitor production capacity utilization and recommend improvements where necessary.

• Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by the superior.

What you need to have:

·       Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

·       Minimum 2 years of experience in Production Planning, Production Control, or Manufacturing Planning.

·       Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, material planning, and capacity planning.

·       Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is an added advantage.

·       Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

·       Good communication and coordination skills.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.

·       Able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
