Production Planning & Control (Executive)

About the role

Epsilon Medical Devices Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturer of medical devices, is seeking a talented Production Executive with engineering background to join our team in Kamunting, Perak. This full-time position is a crucial role within our Production, Planning & Scheduling department, responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of our high-quality medical products.

What you'll be doing

1. Plans and prepares production schedules for the manufacture of products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

2. Responsible for the analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.

3. Analyze component availability to maintain production schedule and manage WIP inventory consistent with company goals.

4. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

5. Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules, and availability of selected items, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.

6. Receive and review Sales Orders against current requirements and work in process using the Material Requirement Planning Report.

7. Release Purchase Requisitions for production material, floor stock items, and all purchases to support customers’ orders.

8. Interface with manufacturing personnel, the Purchasing Department, and Customer Service on material status and production planning issues.

9. Implements the existing production procedures and makes adjustments as necessary to produce products within specifications

10. Ensure the production planning and control aspect of the orders received will meet delivery time.

11. Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

12. Oversees and conducting training of new or existing employees.

13. Monitor usage of utilities to ensure efficiency of operations.

14. Helps and update and maintain the procedures and documentation for all Quality System.

15. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, GMP, and relevant medical device regulations)

16. Identify and resolve production issues, deviations, and non-conformities

17. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and machinery

18. Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing)

19. Enforce workplace safety, hygiene, and cleanroom protocols where applicable

20. Ensure good standard of housekeeping and layout of production and logistic area.

21. Develop strong teamwork, discipline and setting high standards for performances.

22. Any other job assignments required by the superior from time to time.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical devices industry
2. Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles
3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
4. Proficient in using production management software and data analysis tools
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
6. Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
