What they need

Join a Leading Australian Food Manufacturer | Reservoir VIC | $110,0000 - $120,000 + super

Your new company

Join a proud Australian premium frozen desserts' manufacturer on a full-time, permanent basis as a Production Scheduler. Due to continued growth, they're seeking an organised and proactive Production Scheduler to join their operations team at their Reservoir site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a scheduling or planning professional looking to play a critical role in ensuring production runs efficiently, customer orders are met on time and inventory levels are maintained across a busy manufacturing environment.

Your new role

Reporting to the Supply Planner, you will support both the development and maintenance of production schedules across both semifinished and finished goods - a great opportunity for a chemical engineering graduate looking to build a career in operations.

  • Assist in the development and execution of weekly production plans, ensuring alignment with customer demand forecasts and operational capacities.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed daily and weekly production schedules to optimise manufacturing efficiency, maximise resource utilisation, and minimise downtime.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of production planning data within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Procurement, and Operations teams to balance supply requirements and meet customer service expectations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forward projections, proactively identifying and escalating potential risks such as stock shortages, excess inventory, or supply constraints.
  • Participate in weekly supply review meetings and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) forums, providing planning insights and recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across scheduling, planning, reporting, and inventory management processes.
  • Generate and analyse key performance reports, dashboards, and scorecards, providing actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Liaise with production and warehouse teams to ensure schedule adherence and timely resolution of any issues impacting production performance.
  • Support cross-functional planning activities to enhance service levels, improve forecast accuracy, and achieve business objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
  • A minimum of three years' experience within a manufacturing, engineering, production, or operations environment. Recent graduates with relevant qualifications and a strong interest in production planning are also encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing a long-term career within production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Exposure to ERP, MRP, or production scheduling systems, with experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is considered advantageous.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
