What they need

About Us:
As part of the global Kinshofer Group, Doherty Couplers & Attachments design, manufacture and distribute world-leading earthmoving attachments for the construction, demolition, quarrying and mining industries. We’re a fast-growing company offering a great working environment with opportunities to advance and learn alongside an innovative team. More importantly, we’re a great bunch of people who love what we do!

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Production Scheduler with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing environments. This is a full-time position for a proactive, solutions-focused individual who takes ownership and gets the job done.

Based at our head office in Tauriko, Tauranga, you will be the key link between our sales team, engineering, suppliers and the workshop. You will be responsible for scheduling work within our lean manufacturing environment. Working closely with other departments, you will ensure production plans meet customer requirements for throughput and inventory, coordinating resources and liaising with internal and external contacts to deliver work on time and to our quality specifications.

With a strong knowledge of production management, you will have a proven ability to manage your time effectively. A background in 5S and/or other quality standards is highly regarded, and you will ideally hold an Engineering Trade Qualification or equivalent, with solid internal sales/production experience in a production shop environment.

This is an opportunity to join a growing New Zealand manufacturer with a strong focus on quality systems and quality control.

Key responsibilities:

  • Enter all sales orders on the day they are received and confirm them back to the customer and the relevant salesperson
  • Run Material Requirements Planning (MRP) daily, reviewing configure-to-order (CTO) items and new item codes and raising tasks in MS Teams for Engineering to create BOMs and working drawings
  • Convert MRP-suggested jobs and purchase orders, aligning job dates with sales order requirements, agreeing the timing of stock jobs, and issuing purchase orders (with drawings) to suppliers within cut-off times to protect customer lead times
  • Plan and schedule all jobs to meet assembly and dispatch due dates, ensuring fabricated and machined components are complete and available when required, and follow up purchase orders to keep materials on schedule
  • Revise and reschedule orders as required in line with manufacturing lead times
  • Prepare and distribute schedules and maintain files and records
  • Work accurately to close tolerances and tight time frames in a fast-paced environment, achieving all KPIs

Desired competencies, personal skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an engineering/production environment (5+ years preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once, set priorities, and identify and resolve problems
  • A hands-on leader with a strong work ethic, tidy housekeeping and a “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with high attention to detail
  • Agile, responsive and calm under pressure
  • A team player who works well with people at all levels, is consistent and reliable, and has a good sense of humour
  • CAD drawing skills are an advantage but not essential
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and MS Teams; experience with MRP/ERP and production scheduling software is highly regarded
