Description: Our client is currently seeking a Production Shift Manager in MD.

2nd Shift Operations Manager / Production Leader Eastern Shore, Maryland Position Overview A leading food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Operations Manager to oversee production operations within a high-volume processing facility. This role is ideal for a proven manufacturing leader with experience managing large teams, driving operational performance, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and employee engagement. Exceptional candidates with broader operational leadership experience may be considered for future advancement opportunities within the organization.

Food Safety & Compliance

• Partner with regulatory agencies and internal quality teams to maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
• Support facility inspections, audits, and corrective action initiatives while ensuring adherence to HACCP, SSOP, and plant procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety and accountability through consistent execution of company and regulatory requirements.

Team Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly employees through training, performance management, and continuous feedback.
• Work closely with Human Resources on attendance management, employee relations, disciplinary actions, and workforce planning.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth operational execution.

Experience & Knowledge

• Demonstrated leadership experience within food manufacturing, protein processing, consumer packaged goods, or other high-volume production environments.
• Strong understanding of production management, food safety programs, quality systems, and continuous improvement principles.
• Proven ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced setting.

Leadership & Communication

• Ability to lead large employee populations while fostering a positive and performance-driven culture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish are advantageous but not required.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing setting with exposure to production equipment and elevated noise levels.
• Temperature conditions may vary between processing, packaging, and support areas.
• Frequent exposure to wet or humid environments common within food production facilities.
