Production Supervisor - 2nd-Shift

Valex is hiring for a 2nd-Shift Production Supervisor (approximately 3:30pm to Midnight or later if working OT) at its Ventura, CA location. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure only quality products are manufactured and delivered on time and to customer satisfaction,
• Promote and support continuous process, productivity, utilization, safety, and quality improvements,
• Help control the cost of products produced through efficient utilization of labor, supplies, materials, equipment, and company resources,
• Complete special projects as assigned by upper management,
• Support and execute all policies, agreements, procedures, guidelines, and goals set forth by Valex,
• Ensure assigned planning duties related to work order issuance are executed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Key duties include:

• Supervise, train, motivate, and evaluate personnel in production, inspection, shipping/receiving, and facilities,
• Approve weekly timecards for all direct report employees,
• Conduct performance reviews for all direct report employees,
• Assist in accident reports when needed,
• Assure your direct reports are trained and re-trained to applicable WBIs, JSAs, Operating Procedures, in a timely manner and submit training records to Human Resources,
• Plan capacity (labor & equipment) for current and future requirements,
• Maintain performance measures in your areas of responsibility,
• Evaluate and maintain equipment, supplies, and tooling in your areas of responsibility,
• Initiate and maintain improvements as related to safety and operation processes,
• Keep areas of responsibility neat, clean, and free of safety hazards,
• Conduct daily and weekly toolbox and safety meetings,
• Effectively coordinate operations in you areas of responsibility with your management team.

Minimum and preferred qualifications include:

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English and be an effective communicator with all employee levels,
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A college degree or some college coursework is preferred,
• Must have at least two years experience working in a manufacturing environment in a position of meaningful responsibility,
• Must have a solid understanding of MS Word and Excel and be comfortable with computer systems in general, including MFG PRO and ERP systems.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
