What they need
- Production Planning & Daily Operations
- Organise and coordinate daily production activities according to the production plan.
- Assign production tasks to different teams and conduct pre-shift briefings and shift handovers.
- Monitor daily material preparation and material returns, ensuring physical materials are consistent with relevant documentation.
- Arrange the issuance of production consumables and monitor material availability.
- Raise purchase requests when materials or consumables are insufficient to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor production progress across different production lines and coordinate the resolution of operational issues.
- Escalate major production issues to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
- Prepare and review daily production reports and production input/stock-in documentation.
- Ensure production data and records are accurate and complete.
- Monitor production costs, minimise defective products and control the usage of raw materials and consumables.
- Production Equipment Operation, Maintenance & Safety
- Ensure production teams operate machinery according to company operating procedures.
- Monitor and ensure daily maintenance and servicing of production equipment.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment inspection and maintenance activities.
- Identify non-compliance and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Report major equipment breakdowns to the relevant maintenance team and Production Manager.
- Follow up on repair progress to minimise production downtime.
- Closely monitor the operation of key equipment, particularly welding machines and combination machines.
- Escalate major technical or equipment issues to the Technical Department and Production Manager.
- Quality Control
- Monitor product quality across all production lines and reinforce quality awareness among production employees.
- Conduct quality checks on pre-production tin sheets and coordinate with the Printing Department when colour differences, scratches or other abnormalities are identified.
- Monitor key product quality requirements, including pressure resistance, leakage and other internal quality standards.
- Ensure finished products meet company internal standards and customer requirements.
- Arrange rework for non-conforming products and follow up on corrective actions and progress.
- Conduct regular checks on production teams' quality records and ensure proper documentation.
- Workshop & Workplace Management
- Conduct regular workshop inspections and ensure identified non-conformities are corrected.
- Promote safety awareness among workshop employees.
- Organise and implement inspections relating to workplace safety, machinery safety and fire safety.
- Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and machinery operating requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean and orderly production environment.
- Employee & Team Management
- Assist in analysing manpower requirements for different production positions.
- Allocate and adjust manpower among production teams according to production requirements.
- Participate in the recruitment and interview of workshop employees.
- Conduct or coordinate operational skills training and competency assessments.
- Monitor compliance with company rules, procedures and workshop requirements.
- Handle employee misconduct and disciplinary issues in accordance with company procedures.
- Lead and motivate production teams to achieve production and quality objectives.
- Other Responsibilities
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Production Manager or management from time to time.
