Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure production targets and schedules are achieved.
• Lead and manage production employees, including manpower deployment, task allocation and performance monitoring.
• Monitor production output, productivity, material usage, wastage and overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure sufficient manpower deployment and proper allocation of employees according to production requirements.
• Monitor employees' attendance, punctuality, discipline and work performance.
• Provide coaching, guidance and constructive feedback to production employees.
• Train and develop team members to improve competency, productivity and adherence to work procedures.
• Ensure all production activities are carried out according to established SOPs, work instructions and company procedures.
• Monitor product quality throughout the production process and take prompt corrective action when issues arise.
• Work closely with the Quality team to address product non-conformance and quality-related issues.
• Troubleshoot production and operational issues and implement appropriate solutions to minimise downtime and production disruption.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance team on equipment breakdowns, repairs and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Conduct regular workplace and safety inspections and ensure employees comply with all workplace safety requirements.
• Promptly address unsafe work practices, safety hazards and operational risks.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports, including production output, material usage, manpower, downtime, wastage and incidents.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce wastage, improve processes and achieve cost savings.
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
• Liaise closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Warehouse and other departments to ensure smooth production operations.
• Handle day-to-day production and employee-related issues and escalate significant matters to management where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturing requirements and applicable workplace safety regulations.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Production Supervisor or similar supervisory role.
• Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC or relevant certification in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to supervise, motivate and manage production employees.
• Hands-on and comfortable working directly on the production floor.
• Good understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, workplace safety and quality requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly and make sound decisions during production issues or equipment downtime.
• Able to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain production records and prepare reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able and willing to work night shifts and rotating shifts according to production requirements.
• Able to work long or extended hours when required to meet operational and production needs.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Able to support on off or rest days according to the production schedule.
