Production Supervisor

LM Gear Company, a division of Anderson Cook, Inc., is seeking a dedicated and skilled Shift Supervisor to oversee operations in our manufacturing facility on the first shift. This role is essential in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in a CNC Machining environment, along with the ability to lead the workforce effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations on the production floor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, productivity, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure parts are produced in accordance with customer specifications.
• Coordinate production activities with quality, engineering, and materials departments.
• Maintaining and approving hourly workforce timesheets within the timekeeping system.
• Schedule hours and assign duties to hourly workforce.
• Ensure all production personnel are properly trained
• Monitor and participate in the daily training of new hires.
• Monitor quality and productivity of hourly workforce
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure organization, cleanliness, and safety requirements are being maintained in the plant.

Skills

• Knowledge of CNC programming, set up, and operating of manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and materials handling techniques.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers for quality control checks.
• Basic math skills for calculations related to inventory and production metrics.
• Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associates degree in machining or manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in reading part prints and technical drawings.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and quality systems. (IATF and ISO)
