Production Supervisor

About the role

IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing operations in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and safe production operations within our facility. As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, managing team performance, and maintaining quality standards whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role is essential to our operational success and directly impacts our ability to deliver high-quality products to our customers on time.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage production floor operations, ensuring all production targets are met and deadlines are achieved
• Monitor and maintain quality standards across all production processes, conducting regular inspections and addressing any defects or non-conformances immediately
• Lead, train, and motivate production team members, providing guidance on proper work procedures and performance expectations
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations on the production floor at all times
• Manage production schedules and coordinate with planning teams to optimise workflow and resource allocation
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Maintain accurate production records, documentation and reports as required
• Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks and coordinate with maintenance teams when issues arise
• Manage inventory levels of materials and ensure adequate stock for continuous production
• Address and resolve production-related issues promptly, escalating complex problems to management when necessary

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar supervisory role in a manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling and manufacturing processes

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop team members effectively

• Excellent understanding of quality control principles and ISO standards

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure

• Proficiency in using production management systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous
