Production Supervisor

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our team and drive efficiency, safety, and quality in the petfood processing production operations at our Huntly facility. This is your chance to lead a dynamic team, improve production processes, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet our high standards.

About the Role: As the Production Supervisor, you’ll be a key player in the smooth running of our production operations. You’ll work closely with the Factory Manager and Operations Team to oversee the production of petfood, implement process improvements, and maintain strict quality control and safety standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that’s perfect for someone with a passion for production, quality and team development.

Supervision: Lead the production team to ensure all goods meet the highest quality standards.

Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance product quality and production efficiency in conjunction with the Quality & Compliance Manager, Factory Manager & Operations Staff.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a skilled team of production workers, fostering a safe, productive, and positive work environment.

Production: Follow the Production Plan to ensure efficient schedules for smooth order fulfilment and optimal resource use.

Quality Assurance: Monitor processes to maintain top-tier product quality and ensure compliance with food safety regulations along side the Quality & Compliance Manager.

Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of all employees.

Training & Development: Train and upskill staff, helping them grow and succeed in their roles.

Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and manage materials to keep production running smoothly.

Problem Solving: Tackle production challenges head-on, identifying solutions to reduce downtime and waste.

Equipment Maintenance: Work with the Maintenance team and Factory Manager to ensure equipment is well-maintained and operational.

Reporting: Submit detailed production reports, tracking key performance indicators, quality control data, and more.

Key Attributes:

Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in production or meat processing is a plus.

Experience: Previous leadership experience in a similar production, warehouse, or food processing environment is essential.

Skills: Strong organisational, time management, and leadership abilities.

Knowledge: Familiarity with petfood production, food safety standards, and health and safety regulations.

Personal Traits: Reliable, flexible, and physically capable of handling the demands of a production environment.
