What they need
Production Supervisor
A strong shop-floor production leader with proven experience managing people, output, quality and daily execution in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is disciplined, data-driven and hands-on, with the ability to translate production plans into daily results, maintain high standards, and continuously improve productivity, quality and first-time-right performance. This person should be a leader of people and performance, not simply an experienced operator or administrator.
Experience
- 5–10+ years of professional experience.
- At least 3–5 years in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably joinery, doors, furniture, kitchens, closets, wood products, fit-out or a similar industry.
- Proven experience supervising production teams through Team Leaders, Line Leaders or direct operators.
- Experience managing a sizable shop-floor workforce in a high-volume production environment.
- Experience working with daily production targets, production plans, manpower allocation and changing priorities.
- UAE/GCC manufacturing experience is MANDATE.
- Experience in a growing or operationally transforming manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Leadership Profile
- Strong people manager who can lead Team Leaders and operators effectively without becoming dependent on micromanagement.
- Sets clear daily expectations and holds people accountable for results.
- Creates discipline, structure and ownership on the shop floor.
- Comfortable addressing poor performance, absenteeism, unsafe behaviour and unacceptable quality.
- Builds capable Team Leaders and develops a strong second line.
- Can maintain control and composure under pressure.
- Leads by presence and example, while ensuring the operation does not depend on constant personal intervention.
Production & Operational Capability
- Strong understanding of production planning, manpower allocation, line balancing and capacity utilisation.
- Able to translate the production plan into clear daily and hourly execution targets.
- Strong understanding of productivity, efficiency, downtime, output and labour utilisation.
- Comfortable managing production against measurable KPIs.
- Strong understanding of quality control and first-time-right production.
- Proven ability to reduce rework, rejects, downtime, waiting time and production losses.
- Able to identify bottlenecks and take immediate corrective action.
- Understands the difference between recovering today's shortfall and eliminating the root cause of tomorrow's shortfall.
- Strong root-cause-analysis and problem-solving capability.
- Works closely with Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance and other functions without shifting responsibility for production performance.
- Strong continuous-improvement mindset.
Performance & KPI Orientation
The candidate should be comfortable being measured through clear operational outcomes, including:
- Production output vs. plan.
- Productivity per person/hour.
- Labour utilisation.
- Production efficiency.
- Capacity utilisation.
- Downtime and lost production hours.
- Rework and rejection rate.
- First-time-right percentage.
- On-time completion of production orders.
- Attendance and manpower availability.
- Safety and housekeeping performance.
The candidate should be able to show examples of measurable improvements achieved in previous roles rather than only describing responsibilities.
Personality & Behaviour
- High ownership — treats production performance as their responsibility.
- Results-oriented — focuses on output and measurable outcomes.
- Structured and disciplined — creates order and follows through.
- Hands-on but not firefighting-dependent — understands the shop floor without becoming the bottleneck.
- Decisive — makes timely decisions with incomplete information.
- Persistent — does not accept recurring production problems as normal.
- High standards — naturally pushes for quality, productivity and discipline.
- Data-driven — uses facts and numbers rather than assumptions.
- Team-oriented — works cross-functionally while retaining clear accountability.
- Calm under pressure — does not become reactive when production is behind plan.
- Coach and developer — improves the capability of Team Leaders and operators.
