Production Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR Department: Production / Plant Operations Location: Rice Mill Reporting To: Plant Manager / Factory Manager Supervises: Section Supervisors, Operators, Workers & Helpers Employment Type: Full-Time Job Purpose The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day production operations of the rice mill, ensuring timely production as per the approved plan, efficient plant utilization, proper milling recovery, minimum avoidable losses and effective supervision of all production sections. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Execution - Prepare and execute daily/shift-wise production plans. - Plan what paddy is to be processed, quantity, sequence and timing. - Monitor production against the approved plan and ensure timely completion. - Coordinate with Production, Stores, Dispatch and Maintenance teams. 2. Supervision of Section Supervisors - Supervise, guide and monitor all Section Supervisors. - Assign production targets and responsibilities to each section. - Review section-wise production, manpower, yield and performance. - Ensure Section Supervisors maintain discipline, records, housekeeping and process compliance. - Monitor and address delays, negligence or performance issues. 3. Paddy & Production Control - Ensure timely unloading of paddy vehicles and smooth movement of material to production. - Monitor paddy processing from cleaning/dehusking to milling, polishing, grading and sorting, as applicable. - Ensure proper batch/lot identification and production traceability. - Coordinate timely loading of finished rice and other materials for dispatch. 4. Yield & Recovery Monitoring - Monitor paddy-to-rice recovery/yield batch/lot-wise. - Track Head Rice, Broken Rice, Bran, Husk and other by-products. - Identify abnormal recovery, wastage or process losses and take corrective action. - Immediately report significant deviations to the Plant Manager. 5. Plant & Manpower Management - Ensure proper manpower deployment across production sections. - Monitor machine operation, production downtime and operational issues. - Coordinate with Maintenance for breakdowns and plant-related issues. - Ensure smooth coordination between different production sections. 6. Housekeeping & Discipline - Ensure production areas, machines and working areas remain clean and organized. - Ensure Section Supervisors maintain housekeeping in their respective areas. - Ensure proper handling of paddy, rice, bran, husk and production waste. - Maintain overall discipline and safety on the production floor. 7. Reporting Ensure accurate and timely reporting of: - Paddy processed - Rice production - Head Rice / Broken / Bran / Husk - Yield & recovery % - Wastage/loss - Production plan vs actual - Machine downtime - Manpower deployment - Production/operational issues Key Performance Indicators - Production Plan Achievement - Milling Yield & Recovery - Head Rice Recovery - Wastage/Loss Control - Machine Downtime - Timely Production & Dispatch - Accuracy of Production Records - Section Supervisor Performance - Plant Housekeeping & Discipline Candidate Profile - Education: 12th Pass / Diploma / Graduate preferred. - Experience: 2–5 years in rice milling, grain processing, food processing or similar plant operations. - Good knowledge of rice milling process, production planning, yield/recovery and manpower supervision. - Good communication, leadership, discipline and basic computer/Excel skills. Core Accountability «Right Paddy + Right Production Plan + Right Process + Right Yield + Minimum Loss + Timely Production + Proper Plant Discipline» The Production Supervisor will be accountable for ensuring that all production sections and Section Supervisors operate efficiently according to the approved production plan and that major deviations are immediately reported to management.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
