Production Supervisor

JOB TITLE – Fab Supervisor

Position Summary:

The primary function of this position is to supervise and lead the team to ensure the efficient and timely completion of company goals and objectives. Key responsibilities of the role is to ensure that the team functions at peak efficiency and delivers high-quality products while providing a safe work environment. Responsibilities also include the attainment of manufacturing and customer driven metrics.

Essential Functions:

• Provides direction to the team to achieve corporate initiatives and strategies.
• Assist in the recruitment and development of team members that are responsible for the delivery of SPG products
• Engages and provides leadership to the team that drives high performance, accountability and continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation.
• Assist in the establishment of efficient production schedules and ensure that on time manufacturing and production efficiencies objectives are met.
• Updates and maintains work procedures and training
• Assist in controlling cost by improving efficiencies and implementing cost saving programs
• Ensures that product quality exceeds industry standards and meets customer expectations.
• Responsible for the reporting of appropriate metrics to measure effective processes, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensures adherence to safety practices which minimizes risk of injury and promotes good housekeeping and facility cleanliness objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Works closely with other departments to improve efficiency
• Provides performance evaluations of the manufacturing team to achieve desired production efficiency numbers.
• Develops and fosters an effective cross training program

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Results oriented

• Strong background in continuous improvement processes LEAN Yellow Belt Training , Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies)

• Knowledge of fabrication and welding standards and techniques for aluminum, steel and stainless steel.

• Proven ability to build successful work teams, motivate and develop people. Strong change management skills

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential

• Proven decision-making skills

• Ability to work cross functionally

• Ability to work independently and under time constraints

• Ability to diagnose problems and implement solutions

• Strong organizational skills are required

• Excellent Oral and written communication, ability to effectively present to management

• Must be PC proficient including Microsoft, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

Minimum Required Experience or Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or industrial technology
• Minimum 5-10 years of manufacturing experience
