Production Supervisor – Secondary Packaging

Industry: Food Manufacturing (Sauces, Ketchup, Noodles, Pickles, Jam, etc.)

1. Job Purpose

To supervise and monitor the secondary packaging line, ensure correct packaging of finished products, maintain production targets, minimize packing errors and wastage, and ensure that all products are packed according to company quality standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Secondary Packaging Line Supervision - Check the complete secondary packaging line during production.

B. Manpower Management

• Allocate work to packing workers according to production requirements
• Monitor worker productivity, discipline, hygiene, and attendance.

C. Production Monitoring

• Identify and report bottlenecks, machine stoppages, and manpower shortages.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure a continuous supply of finished products.

D. Quality Control

• Check for damaged, leaking, improperly sealed, or defective primary packs before secondary packing.

E. Material and Wastage Control

• Ensure packaging materials are used economically and wastage is minimized.

F. Records and Reporting

• Maintain daily production and secondary packaging reports.
• Maintain packaging line checklists and relevant quality records.

G. Safety, Hygiene and Housekeeping

• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping around the packaging line.

3. Daily Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Achievement of daily packing targets.
• Packing errors and product mix-ups.
• Rejection and rework percentage.
• Packaging material wastage.
• Manpower productivity.
• Machine downtime and line stoppages.
• Accuracy of production records.
• Compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards.

4. Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 12th pass; a diploma or graduate qualification is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in production or packaging supervision, preferably in the food or FMCG industry.
• Experience handling packing workers and secondary packaging operations.
• Basic knowledge of batch coding, carton packing, shrink wrapping, and production reporting.
• Basic computer and Excel knowledge preferred.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
