This organization develops and manufactures innovative, life-saving medical technologies used in critical care environments worldwide. With continued investment in manufacturing capabilities, automated equipment, and production infrastructure, this is an excellent opportunity to join an established business experiencing significant growth.
We are seeking hands-on manufacturing leaders who enjoy being on the production floor, developing teams, improving operational performance, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality medical devices.
Two positions are available:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, overseeing production activities within the medical device manufacturing operation.
- Swing Shift: Starting at 3:30 PM, primarily overseeing automated manufacturing equipment and consumable production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations, overseeing production personnel, equipment, and processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Provide hands-on leadership on the production floor, supporting equipment operation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing activities as needed.
- Supervise production teams within an expanding medical device manufacturing environment.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including production output, equipment downtime, scrap, efficiency, and schedule adherence.
- Oversee automated manufacturing equipment and support the introduction of new production technologies and processes.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support production planning, staffing requirements, shift coverage, and resource allocation to meet manufacturing targets.
- Lead root-cause investigations related to equipment downtime, process deviations, and product quality concerns.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Coach, mentor, and develop production employees through training, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Maintain compliance with established quality systems, safety procedures, and applicable medical device manufacturing regulations.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive production environment while supporting the organization's established culture and operating practices.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within medical devices, regulated manufacturing, or precision manufacturing.
- Demonstrated supervisory, team leadership, or relevant manufacturing leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience supporting production equipment, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting activities.
- Experience monitoring manufacturing KPIs and using operational data to drive improvements.
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams.
- A leadership style that emphasizes accountability, employee development, teamwork, and a willingness to remain actively involved on the production floor.
Preferred:
- Experience within medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated production environment.
- Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment, assembly processes, or high-volume consumable manufacturing.
- Experience with injection molding processes or supporting the introduction of new manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA quality requirements, or similar regulated manufacturing standards.
- Experience supporting equipment installations, process improvements, or manufacturing expansion projects.
