Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and hands-on Production Supervisor to manage daily shop-floor operations at our medical device manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, ensuring machine availability, managing manpower, and minimizing production losses and rejections.

The role involves supervising production activities and manpower related manufacturing and packing of patient warming blankets and related medical products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning and Execution

• Execute daily production plans and achieve assigned production targets.
• Allocate manpower and machines according to production requirements.
• Monitor hourly output, production efficiency, and line performance.
• Ensure smooth workflow and minimize production delays and bottlenecks.
• Maintain proper shift handover and communicate pending activities to the next shift.

2. Manpower Management

• Supervise production operators and helpers on the shop floor.
• Allocate duties, monitor attendance, and maintain workforce discipline.
• Train workers on machine operation, work instructions, and safe working practices.
• Ensure only trained and authorized workers operate machinery independently.
• Monitor operator productivity and identify training requirements.

3. Quality Control and Process Compliance

• Ensure products are manufactured according to approved specifications, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Monitor critical process parameters and conduct in-process checks.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC department to address quality issues and customer complaints.
• Prevent defective products from moving to the next production stage.
• Maintain traceability, batch records, production reports, and other required documentation.
• Support ISO 13485 audits and compliance with applicable medical device manufacturing requirements.

4. Machine Operation and Maintenance Coordination

• Monitor machine performance and ensure proper utilization of production equipment.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance and breakdown resolution.
• Identify recurring machine problems and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Reduce machine downtime, material wastage, and production losses.
• Ensure machines are operated within approved process parameters and safety limits.

5. Safety and 5S

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and machine safety requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness, workplace organization, and 5S practices.
• Ensure the proper use of PPE and adherence to company rules.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.

6. Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Prepare daily production, rejection, wastage, downtime, and manpower reports.
• Monitor production efficiency, output per worker, and rejection percentages.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce material consumption.
• Coordinate with QA, maintenance, stores, and planning teams to resolve operational issues.
• Implement approved corrective and preventive actions.

Required Skills

• Practical experience in shop-floor production supervision.
• Good understanding of production planning, manpower allocation, and shift management.
• Knowledge of machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance coordination.
• Ability to maintain production records and prepare Excel-based reports.
• Understanding of quality control, SOPs, 5S, and workplace safety.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a target-oriented manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in medical device, non-woven fabric, textile, plastic converting, packaging, or similar manufacturing industries.
• Experience with automated or PLC-controlled production machinery.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, traceability, process control, and quality documentation.
• Experience in reducing rejection, wastage, and machine downtime.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a disciplined, proactive, and technically capable supervisor who takes ownership of production performance, leads workers effectively, solves shop-floor problems, and maintains a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity.
