Production Supervisor

Schedule: Sunday–Friday, starting at 6:30 AM until production is complete

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily operations within our fresh produce processing area. This role is responsible for supervising the cleaning, preparation, and packaging of fruits and vegetables while ensuring strict adherence to food safety, quality, sanitation, and productivity standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive floor leader with experience in fresh produce processing or food manufacturing who can effectively manage production demands, staffing, product quality, waste reduction, and employee performance in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily fresh-cut production operations and ensure customer demand and production goals are met.
• Direct the preparation, cutting, processing, and packaging of fruits and vegetables according to established specifications.
• Monitor production volume, workflow, staffing, and labor utilization to maximize productivity.
• Enforce GMP, food safety, sanitation, safety, and quality standards and maintain an audit-ready work environment.
• Monitor product quality while minimizing shrink, waste, and product loss.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while reinforcing expectations for attendance, productivity, safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Monitor equipment performance and promptly escalate maintenance concerns.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, inventory, and operational documentation.
• Use Pro-Produce and other production or warehouse management systems to support daily operations.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflow, production throughput, efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Support new processes, product development initiatives, and other departmental priorities.
• Foster a positive, accountable, safety-focused, and continuous-improvement culture.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive movement.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of boxed or bagged produce.
• Ability to lift to 75 pounds as required.
• Ability to work for extended periods in a damp, wet, cold, and refrigerated production environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on production demands

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in food processing, fresh produce processing, or food manufacturing.
• Experience leading production teams and managing production output.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage production operations with minimal supervision.
• Experience with inventory management and par-level controls.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with Pro-Produce, WMS, or similar production systems preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year. In addition, Keany Produce & Gourmet offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
